Registration
Policies
Only registrants with badges may attend sessions or
special events (children excepted).
 |
Program participants must register by April
15. |
 |
Everyone over 18 must register, including
non-economist spouses and adult guests. |
 |
Cancellations must be in writing and
postmarked by June 1. |
 |
Refunds will be processed after the conference and
are subject to a $25 handling fee. |
 |
Membership dues are nonrefundable. |
 |
Children (under 18) need not register to
share hotel accommodations or attend special events, but they do need a
purchased ticket for all special events. |
 |
Program participants reserve your housing
now, and make any necessary adjustments on your arrival and departure
dates when your travel plans are confirmed. |
 |
After June 15, registration fees will
increase by $45 and you will be required to register on-site.

Benefits
All conference registrations are entitled to receive:

Conference program with affiliation, phone,
fax, and e-mail of all participants. |

Admittance to all concurrent and general
sessions. |
 |
Waiver of manuscript submission fees for
current members submitting a conference paper to Economic Inquiry or
Contemporary Economic Policy by December 31, 2010. |

Complimentary coffee breaks, luncheon (as
space permits), and
no-host reception. |

Complimentary conference bag.

Activities
 |
Luncheon ticket(s) and any special activity
ticket(s), will be included in the packet you will receive on-site. |

Space is limited for special activities. |

A luncheon ticket is included in each
registration fee; however, space is limited and you must reserve a seat by checking the

Cancellations must be made in writing by
June 30 to receive a refund. We are unable to give refunds for late

WEAI Welcome Reception
Tuesday, June 29 | 6:00-7:30 p.m.
Take time to relax, renew old acquaintances,
and make new friends at the WEAI Welcome Reception. There will be a cash bar and
hearty appetizers.
Portland General
Electric's Marmot Dam Removal Site on the Sandy River
Wednesday, June 30 | 2:45 to 7:00 p.m.
Join us for an afternoon adventure to see the former site of the Marmot Dam
(the largest concrete dam ever removed) on the Sandy River as well as the
former site of Rosyln Lake. Both sites were part of the Bull Run
Hydroelectric Project which supplied power to the Portland area for nearly
a century before PGE began its controlled demolition of the dam in 2007,
allowing Mother Nature to reclaim and begin to reform the area.
Representatives from PGE will be on hand at each site to explain the
economic, regulatory, and environmental impact of the project.
Presidential Luncheon/Business Meeting
Thursday, July 1 | 12:15 to 2:15 p.m.
This
years luncheon features an address by WEAI President Ronald Jones,
University of Rochester and 2009 AEA Distinguished Fellow. Tickets are
required and seating will be allotted on a first-come,
first-served basis so make your reservation early. Please note any special
dietary requirements you may have.

Blues Festival 2010 | Friday-Monday, July 2-5 | 4:30-10:30pm
Since 1988, the Waterfront Blues Festival has grown in size and reputation
to be the largest blues festival west of the Mississippi. The event is
owned and operated by Oregon Food Bank as a way to raise food, funds, and
awareness to help fight hunger. Daily admission is a $10 donation and two

Airport-to-Hotel Transportation
The
Portland MAX light-rail is the least expensive way ($2.50 one way) to
travel the 9 miles between downtown hotels and the Portland International
Airport. Taxis cost approximately $38 one-way; Super Shuttle $14 one-way.

projectors, LCD projectors, and screens will be provided in each meeting
room. LAPTOP COMPUTERS WILL NOT BE PROVIDED, so coordinate with your
fellow session participants if you need one available. If other equipment is
